I had a plan for jet-lag. I’d worked out a cunning way to get over here without suffering from it at all. I wouldn’t sleep for the 1st or 2nd leg, but I’d spark out for the whole of the last leg – a good 6 / 7 hours which is exactly what I did.

The guy above was a complete idiot. Landed in late morning ok. Got back to Williamstown, (our ‘base’ for the holiday), had a bite to eat and then moved into party mode. Sacked it around 4am and up again by 7.30am. A general look around the area, trip over to Jan’s workplace, (Kellermeister vineyard), to sample the wares, then back for tea. Crash around 4pm, but up again by 5.30pm as the night’s party has already started! Never mind – only half an hour late. Early finish this time, (1am), but up again by 8am. Now my body has totally given up trying to reset my internal clock and I appear to be not far behind it! Spent the day going from comatose to the ‘life and soul’. Still managed a ride out with Roger on his bikes, a BMW GS1150 Adventure and a Yamaha XVZ Wildstar Venture. One of them weighed about a ton and the other was about 8 feet tall. I’ll let you work out which was which! And that’s the 1st 3 days.

Today, (day 4), we went out as far as the Murray River and had lunch at Swan Reach, (where we also saw a ‘bag’ of pelicans). Apart from an old people’s home having their Christmas dinner and launching into a bit of Karaoke it’s been a good day. Weather still in the high 20’s, so is fine by me. We’re expecting 38C by Friday though, so we’ll see how we get on then. Tomorrow Caz and I are taking the faggot tractor as it’s affectionally known, (the behemoth I rode yesterday), down the Ocean Road and then back over the Grampian Mountains. Should be gone a few days but hope to update this site as I go along.

Cheers for now Cobbers

PS. Also saw Santa delivering presents on his bike!
