Today Caz and I started our 'walkabout' - although we are using a bit of help! From Williamstown we headed down to the coast, skirting Adelaide to Wellington. Over the ferry and on down towards the Ocean Road, although we won't get there until tomorrow. Stopped for the night in Robe, our destination for the day. (Got a good discount as well - the owner happens to have 4 Ducati's of his own : The bike is surprisingly comfortable - for Caz as well as me. With radio, tape player, CB & IC there's plenty to play with and the cruise control makes life easy. Covered 240 miles today, but riding's so relaxed, it felt like less than 100. The lobster below was designed to go on the roof of the local restaurant - in feet and inches but was built in metres! A bit of a breakdown in communications one feels :-) The cabin we're in for the night is right by the sea and its colour is the bluest I've ever seen with my own eyes. We had fish and chips for supper, (well, it is a little chilly at 27 degrees C),and the fish was 'flake' which is a type of shark - delicious. Finished the night in The Caledonian - a very old pub run by an ex-Scotsman. That's it for now - more tomorrow.
