Spent a fruitless morning being pushed from pillar to post trying to find an Internet connection – fruitlessly. Gave up and left Colac – a singularly forgettable place, (which is probably why I’ll remember it). Travelled up and left towards the Grampians. Did about 200 miles today and stopped at Halls Gap. These mountains are another bunch of superlatives and we’ve found a great cabin to stay the night – in fact, we’ll be staying for 2 nights as there’s so much to do here. On this last stretch up into the mountains and at our cabin, we’ve seen emus’, cockatoos, parrots, and a spiny echidna, but by the time I had my camera ready, it had burrowed straight down into the ground.
